Hello

I am Asha Louise and I am from Bristol, in England. I am currently a Primary School Teacher and it is an extremely rewarding job. I love teaching the children and especially love sharing my enthusiasm for drawing, painting and all other elements of creativity.

My Story

I have always enjoyed drawing and painting from a very young age. I felt as though this was something that allowed me to be creative and I liked finding other people who shared my enthusiasm.

As a child, I loved spending time drawing with my grandparents. My grandad always loved drawing and painting and I still enjoy looking through all of his artwork now. I wish I'd had the opportunity to look through all of his sketchbooks with him, but I feel very privileged that I have been handed down his artwork as this was something that I shared with him. I hope to continue to produce artwork in honour of him as he definitely inspired my own art as I was growing up.

Throughout my time in school, I loved art lessons and I always looked forward to having art on my weekly timetable. I took art for GCSE and I continued this into A-Level. I loved producing a sketchbook and I have many memories of late night painting sessions and many adventures to various locations for photoshoots of landscapes, animals, ice-cream sundaes and cupcakes. One specific highlight was a late night adventure to a local beach (in Winter) to take photos that gave the appearance of someone walking the sea in Summer... The grey sky certainly required me to learn some photoshop skills.

My art A-Level introduced me to drawing tablets and this was something that I really enjoyed experimenting with. I now have my own drawing tablet and I love trying out new styles and finding ways to make my drawings come to life digitally.

During my university degree, I chose to specialise in art which allowed me to spend lots of time in schools teaching art to different classes. Art is still my favourite subject to teach and I love finding ways to bring creativity into all aspects of the curriculum and allowing all children to access the learning.
